Beware and Be Grateful

We have radio 1 playing in the stockroom in work on a daily basis. Recently, I've been feeling increasingly grimmed out by the lack of good new music out there. It's been a LONG time since I've heard a new band that I adore. I've been listening to old faithfuls on my ipod but I'm desperately in need of something new to lift me out of my music funk.

That was, UNTIL NOW! I know they're not  a new band but The new Maps & Atlases album, Beware and Be Grateful, comes out next week but you can stream it right over here until then (Vampires is a catchy number to get you dancing around like a lunatic) and all I can say is, I'm hooked! LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

It's kind of sad that great bands like this don't really get the recognition they deserve, and instead, songs like this debut in at number one! (can someone please explain to me how this happened?!)

Anyway, I've been a little absent of late on the blogging front as Skrinkladoo is having a major make-over so I'm trying to hold off until it's done and dusted (any day now!)

Keep checking back for my next post on my goings on in NEW YORK CITY (my real home) and if you have heard any great bands recently I'd love to hear them

Anderson Luna

To say I'm excited about going back to New York in 2.5 weeks is a bit of an understatement. To say I'm excited to be getting tattooed by Anderson Luna whilst there is a MASSIVE understatement.

Luna is an artist at Saved Tattoo in Brooklyn, and a pretty darn good one at that. I love the illustrative quality he gives to his work- as well as the incredible detail

I'm getting PUMPED just thinking about it. I'm not going to spill the beans and tell you what I'm going to get yet incasebut I can tell it's going to be awesome.

Blue Nails

I love these chalky blue nails seen on the runway at Oscar de la Renta.  

I especially like the contrast of pastel nails against black for autumn/winter.

They really do go well with everything! and excuse me for getting a little excited, but I seem to notice that fishnets are making a come-back? 

Yes please!
